Effective date: June 9, 2026
Tome is a personal audiobook player for files you choose from iCloud Drive. It does not have ads, analytics, tracking, a Tome account system, or a developer-run backend service.
Information Tome Uses
- Audiobook files: Tome reads the folder and audio files you select so it can show your library, play audio, read metadata, and display artwork. Those files stay in your iCloud Drive or on your device.
- Playback state: Tome saves the current book identifier, playback position, playback speed, and update time. It stores this locally and syncs it through Apple iCloud Key-Value Store when iCloud is available.
- Bookmarks: Tome stores bookmarks locally on your device.
- Folder access: Tome stores a local security-scoped bookmark so it can reopen the folder you selected.
Information Tome Does Not Collect
Tome does not collect personal information for the developer. It does not send your audiobook files, library contents, bookmarks, playback history, or usage activity to a Tome server.
Tome does not use third-party analytics SDKs, advertising SDKs, tracking SDKs, or data brokers.
Sharing
Tome does not sell or share your data with third parties. iCloud Drive and iCloud Key-Value Store are Apple services, and their handling is governed by Apple's privacy terms and your iCloud settings.
Deleting Data
You can delete local Tome data by deleting the app from your device. You can delete audiobook files from the Files app or iCloud Drive. Playback state synced through iCloud is managed by Apple's iCloud services.
